John Seridan

John Sheridan, son of a diplomatic envoy, born in North America, was a creer officer in Earth Force. During the Earth/Minbari war, the ship under his command achieved the only real victory against the superior Minbari war power by destroying their flag ship, the "Black Star", earning him the name "Starkiller" among the Minbari. When Commander Sinclair was recalled from Babylon 5 after President Santiago's death, Sheridan was appointed its new commander by President Clark.

Season 2: Over the course of the first year of his command, Sheridan has to deal with the open hatred of the Minbari warrior caste towards him. He learns about the ancient enemy, called the "Shadows", who are responsible for the death of his wife Anna 2 years before. Together with Delenn, he becomes the leader of a resistance cell whose goal it is to uncover the conspiracies in EarthGov and fight the Shadows.

Season 3: Proof is found for President Clark's involvement in the conspiracy that lead to the death of President Santiago. The independence movements of seveal earth colonies lead to open war. Babylon 5 declares indepenence. Only months later, the Shadow war begins, and Sheridan can convince Kosh to bring the Vorlons in. During all this, his relationship with Delenn deepens. At the end of the year, when the war stand upon the brink, Anna Sheridan returns and he goes with her to the home world of the Shadows, Z'ha'dum.

Season 4: After the thermonucolear blast on Z'ha'dum, Sheridan is dying. Lorien, the "First One", resurrects him by giving him some of his life engergy to sustain him - for 20 years. He returns to Babylon 5, and his survival once more unites the previously divided worlds to fight together against the Shadows. With Lorien's help and the involvement of the other few "First Ones", Sheridan and Delenn force the Shadows and the Vorlons to move byeond the rim, never to return. When EarthForce starts attacking refugee ships, Sheridan fights back. Betrayed by Garibaldi, he is taken prisoner and tortured on Mars. He is rescued, and his renegade force succeed. He steps down as commander of Babylon 5 and leaves EarthForce, and is chosen to serve as the first President of the newly founded Interstellar Alliance.

Seanon 5: Sheridan picks his ex-wife Elizabeth Lochley as his successor as Capatian on Babylon 5, even though she did not join the rebellion. When the Centauri, under the influence of the Drakh, attack their neighbors, the ISA forces fight back and is victorious, but the civtory comes with a high price. At the end of the year, Sheridan and Delenn, pregnant with their first child, leave for the newly finished ISA headquarters on Minbar.

Twenty Years later, as Lorien predicted, John's life energy is used up. He celebrates his farewell with old friends, and takes off into space. At Coriana, Lorien takes him beyond the rim.
